BOTDR (Brillouin Optical Time Domain Reflectometry, optical fiber sensor)
Simultaneous measurement of strain distribution, loss distribution, and Brillouin scattering spectrum at various locations of the optical fiber.
The 6419A BOTDR can simultaneously measure strain distribution, loss distribution, and Brillouin scattering spectrum at various locations in optical fibers, and can display 3D and multiple distribution parameters. It offers advantages such as high-precision strain measurement, good reproducibility, and single-end non-destructive measurement. It has become an indispensable instrument in the fields of optical fiber communication and optical fiber sensing (OFS). The 6419A can be widely used for health monitoring of bridges, dams, tunnels, high-rise buildings, oil well platforms, and oil pipelines, as well as for predicting and warning of geological hazards such as landslides, mudflows, and earthquakes. It is also applicable for diagnosing intelligent structures such as ships and spacecraft. The 6419A can also be used to measure the strain distribution of optical fiber loops or underwater optical cables during the development, manufacturing, testing process, or when underwater optical cables are in the development, manufacturing, construction, acceptance inspection, and maintenance stages.
